17 March 2008: Hot on the heels of the 2008 budget Fresh Space, one of Staffordshire’s foremost property development companies, is leading the way when it comes to helping first-time buyers and key-workers get a foot on the property ladder.
Fresh Space has already arranged a special weekend on April 5 and 6 with sister company, Igloo Developments, specifically aimed at key-workers and first-time buyers. Hosted by Fresh Space at its popular development in the heart of Stafford, The Oval, it will be an ideal opportunity to find out more information on incentive schemes currently available to enable them to purchase a property from Fresh Space or Igloo.
Independent financial advisors, as well as members of the Fresh Space advisory team, will be on hand to offer information and impartial advice to anyone who may be thinking of entering the property market, but finds the various incentive schemes available somewhat confusing.
Rob Rafferty, Group Managing Director of Fresh Space, comments:
“Fresh Space welcomes the chancellor’s budget announcement regarding slashing stamp-duty on shared equity homes as being a step in the right direction in helping people get their first foot on the property ladder. We already offer the Government’s Open Market HomeBuy scheme for purchasers who meet the eligibility criteria on specific developments as well as other incentives, such as part-exchange and assisted sales.
Whilst it’s good news for buyers, they will no doubt have questions around what’s available. We’ve decided to have an open weekend where they can come along and get the answers or ideas.”
Fresh Space and Igloo currently have five developments under construction which are participating in the Open Market HomeBuy scheme. These include Stroll on Fancy Walk in Stafford and Girton Road, Station Road, Cannock Road and New Penkridge Road in Cannock.
The Open Market HomeBuy scheme provides special arrangements backed by the Government to help individuals get on or back into the property market. Essentially with the help of Fresh Space’s financial advisors and a HomeBuy agent Fresh Space can, on selected units and subject to criteria, obtain an equity loan of 40 per cent of the purchase price which, under certain circumstances, has no fixed-term for repayment nor does it bear any rental costs or ongoing payments. It can be a completely free loan that is not repaid until the purchaser sells the property unless the buyer chooses to repay it early. For the buyer this can equate to a purchase price of below £65,000 on certain units.
Further information on all of the incentives available from Fresh Space and Igloo will be available at The Oval on Saturday April 5th or Sunday April 6th between 11am-5pm.
