Lichfield-based property developer Fresh Space has asked pupils from Millfield Primary School to help come up with house names for its exclusive new development in Fazeley.
Fresh Space gave each of Millfield’s classes the theme of canal wildlife for their suggestions for the names of the 14 plots at The Boat House development.
The school children will be monitoring the development of the site, located on the Lichfield Road, through a series of site visits at each stage of project. Currently in the demolition process, the refurbishment of existing buildings will start in October.
Fresh Space sales and marketing manager Tara Martin has been delighted by the children’s efforts:
“The pupils seemed to really enjoy participating in the activity. It has helped them to develop their creative skills while learning more about the wildlife surrounding our local waterways.
The ongoing visits to the site have been greeted with much enthusiasm from the children who are keen to gain more of an insight into the building process. The conversion of the former boat house has additionally helped the pupils to understand more about the history of the area.”
The Royal Bank of Scotland (“RBS”) through its specialist property finance team has been a long-term supporter of Fresh Space in their ongoing operations. They have been delighted to assist in this scheme with the school children of Millfield Primary by making a financial contribution to the project.
Andy Morton, Director, Property Finance commented:
“When approached by Fresh Space we recognised the value of collaboration with the school and are pleased to have contributed to this project. We like to look at our role as being not only that of an economic partner to our clients but also as a community partner in the locations that we operate within, and feel such a project as this is a great example of how the private sector can make a valuable contribution to a local community.”
The finished Boat House development will combine new builds and converted properties, consisting of seven individually-styled two bedroom apartments and seven three bedroom townhouses.
After already receiving considerable interest in the new site, Fresh Space expects to be inundated with demand from local homebuyers who are keen to own a distinctive and contemporary new home in a canal-side location.
