| CAMERA,
lights, action... Fresh Spaces stunning Valley Road development
found itself under the spotlight for the filming of a special
information video addressing health issues affecting schoolchildren.
The
beautifully decorated and furnished showhome at Valley Road
has been used as the setting for a number of scenes which
were filmed on domestic matters which are being addressed
in the video.
The
exclusive development of eight luxury homes was chosen by
Cannock Chase District Councils Arts Development Officer
Lisa Shepherd and Fresh Space were happy to accommodate them
there.
Pupils
from Cannock Chase High School have not only starred in the
video, they have also written the scripts, produced, filmed
and even made the tea for those who have been on the set at
different locations.
Funding
was obtained from the Arts Council of England for the project
which has involved the pupils developing the video and a board
game alongside it to convey important messages on arts and
health matters.
The first part of this project was to undertake a questionnaire
among the schools pupils which identified the key issues
with regard to health in particular, explained Lisa.
There were domestic matters which featured prominently
in the findings and so that meant we were looking to recreate
a home situation where we could film a number of different
scenes.
She
added: The councils close association with Fresh
Space through its work in enhancing the area around the Valley
Road development and the Cannock Chase Museum meant that we
were recommended to use that as the location for filming.
Fresh Space were absolutely fabulous. They couldnt
have been more accommodating and their assistance in providing
a perfect setting has certainly added to the satisfaction
and enjoyment the pupils have gained from making this video.
This
is a pilot scheme which the pupils from the Champs group at
the High School have taken part in with Media Divas, who have
provided the filming and production support.
This
is a video that has been produced by young people for young
people, and its aim has been to bring a sense of realism to
domestic issues, personal hygiene and a number of other matters,
so providing the pupils with valuable advice and guidance.
The
showhome at Valley Road is one of three properties which Fresh
Space still have available at this development close to Cannock
Chase.
An
important aspect of this development has been working on initiatives
to help create a better environment for the whole community,
said Tara Martin, Fresh Spaces Sales and Marketing Manager.
Therefore, we were only too happy to help out when we
were approached by the arts department to do this filming.
